Who Are We?
Welcome to Christ Lutheran Church — Where All Belong
Today we extend Christ’s radical welcome — the kind that makes no exceptions and draws the circle wide.
We are a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) congregation, which means we celebrate the beautiful diversity of God’s creation and commit ourselves to the full inclusion, safety, and affirmation of people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions.
We also welcome you — yes, you — wherever you find yourself on life’s journey.
We welcome the single, married, partnered, divorced, and widowed.
We welcome crying newborns and wise elders, teenagers with questions, and toddlers with sticky fingers.
We welcome those who are LGBTQIA+, those who have been pushed away from church before, and those who are just now finding the courage to walk through the door again.
We welcome you whether your skin is brown, black, white, or any color God dreamed up;
whether you speak perfect English, broken English, or four different languages;
whether you come dressed to the nines or just rolled out of bed.
We welcome saints and sinners, skeptics and seekers, dreamers and doubters.
We welcome the over-60-but-not-grown-up-yet crowd and youth growing up way too fast.
We welcome coffee drinkers and energy drinkers, vegans and bacon lovers, early risers and night owls.
We welcome you if you can sing like an angel—or if you can’t carry a tune to save your life.
We welcome those in recovery, those still struggling, and those who just need a safe place to breathe.
We welcome you if you’re full of faith or full of questions, if you love “organized religion” or you’re still deciding what that even means.
We welcome those who are differently abled, those with hearing or vision loss, those living with chronic illness, and those whose bodies and minds move through the world in unique ways.
We welcome those who are inked, pierced, polished, plain, or just perfectly themselves.
We especially welcome the ones who could use a prayer right now, who were told they didn’t belong, who have been hurt by churches before, or who just got lost in Waterford and ended up here by holy accident.
At Christ Lutheran, we believe grace is God’s idea — and it’s for everyone.
You belong here. You are loved here. You are enough here.
Welcome home.
